In order to help those who are on the streets and to reduce homelessness, a cohesive approach is needed. Streetlink is a charity that helps provide the cohesive link to support rough sleepers.
Streetlink is a charity that works to connect rough sleepers with important local services. They rely on information from members of the public who report the location and general appearance of someone sleeping rough. They appreciate as much detail as you can provide about the location, the time of day you’ve seen the person, any identifying details like name, age and gender and whether they are sleeping/bedding down at that moment in time. Based on this information, an independent local homelessness outreach team is sent out to locate the rough sleeper and connect them with support services. The person who alerted Streetlink is then sent details of the action normally taken to support people who are sleeping rough.
To contact Streetlink, visit www.streetlink.org.uk or call 0300 500 0914. You can alert the local street outreach services on the website, via phone or via the ‘StreetLink’ mobile app. If the rough sleeper needs medical attention or you believe they are under 18, call 999.
