The re-development of CB1 has transformed the retail experience. There is now a wide range of restaurants, bars and food stores, meaning that CB1 offers plenty of choice whether you’re grabbing a coffee to go, eating out or stocking up at home. Station Square offers; the Station Tavern and The Old Ticket Office, which are now popular spots for workers and residents to unwind at the end of the day with a drink or a meal, Wasabi with its Japanese cuisine, and for coffee and snacks a choice between Caffé Nero and Chill#2. Food and drinks on the go is available from Pret and Sainsbury’s on the Square and M&S inside the new railway station.
For those fond of, or curious about, Cambridge’s famous pop-up food offerings, next to the Tamburlaine on Fridays is foodPark. A short walk to the West through Mill Park takes you to Brookgate (by Hills Road) where another cluster of food and drink options includes Ling Lings (pop-up food outside Aston House), Costa Coffee, La Maison du Steak and the Co-op. Once a drab area where people just passed through, this is now an exciting retail hub buzzing with people.
