Do you want to find out more about growing and looking after a garden? Do you want to grow wonderful plants?
In October 2019, we held a herb planting session for people to drop by and plant some herbs to grow over the winter. Cambridge Botanic Gardens facilitated the session and despite poor weather, there was some great enthusiasm. A key reason why we held this session was to see whether local people were interested in having a CB1 Community garden. Next to the Community Room at Huxley House, there is a space which is not really used and this could be a great place to have a community garden.
The key in all of this though is people! We need people who are interested to be able to keep a garden going. It is not just about watering, planting and tidying the garden up (although this is all important), it is also about having enthusiasm for making that space look brilliant for yourself and others to enjoy.
As such, we want to know if you’re interested in getting involved! It won’t be a big job but we need a few people who would be happy to help plant things, water and tidy the garden to keep it nice. There will be support by the Botanic Gardens and Sam but we need volunteers! If we have a few volunteers, we can go ahead with starting something!
