In the latest instalment of the CB1 interviews, we spoke with Nikki who is Director of Sales and Marketing at the Clayton Hotel (formerly the Tamburlaine Hotel) on Station Road. Clayton Hotels took over the hotel at CB1 earlier this year. In this interview, we chat to Nikki about the hotel and about CB1.
What services do you provide at the Clayton Hotel?
We are full hotel service, what that means is restaurant, weddings, functions, conferences and accommodation. We are also delighted to say we have a fitness suite.
Since starting in post, what are your first impressions of CB1?
What a fantastic community, and great potential. It’s hard to have a clear picture as i started during lockdown and CB1 was extremely quiet. However, I understand the footfall is around 20,000 a day so very excited to see that come back.
How are you finding being part of the community at CB1?
I really like it. My remit when I started had at the top of it, build relations with CB1, which we affectionately call our neighbours. This is very important within in our brand of Clayton Hotels. Everyone I have dealt with has been very welcoming.
What are your hopes for the future of the hotel and the CB1 Estate?
Just that we work closer together, and any hotel requirements than feel they can pick up the phone and call me, we want to build that relationship.
Anything else to add?
Just “thank you” I understand that the hotel has not always been welcoming to CB1, but we want to change that and you have all made that so easy. If we can ever support you, call me.
Many thanks to Nikki for giving up some time to speak to us.
