Following on from our last residents meeting in November, the latest CB1 Community residents meet took place on Monday 7th January 2019 at the Community Room at Huxley House in Mill Park. Notes from the meeting can be found here. Included in the notes is a report from Sam (the Community Engagement and Project Coordinator).
The aims of the meet were to:
- Update about CB1
- Discuss resident issues and think about how community can be strengthened
- Discuss and agree further actions & next steps
The meet centred mainly on maintenance issues on the estate. There was a desire for these issues to be progressed and resolved. Out of discussion came more solid support for a Federation of Residents on the CB1 Estate. This would help to ensure there is greater influence for residents as a collective on issues they feel passionate about. In line with setting this up, it was agreed that a working party would be set up to look at this and to draft a constitution for approval at the next residents meet. If you would like to be part of this working group, please contact Sam at firstname.lastname@example.org. This will be an instrumental group in the creation of this new body.
The next residents meet will take place on Monday 25th February 2019 from 7pm to 8.30pm with arrival from 6.30pm for attendees to catch up and meet neighbours. The location of this will be Huxley House Community Room.
