Following on from our fourth residents meeting in July, the fifth CB1 Community residents meet took place on Thursday 13th September 2018 at Crick House in Mill Park. Notes from the meeting can be found here and you can read the report from Sam (the Community Engagement and Project Coordinator) in the notes too.
The aims of the meet were to:
– Update about CB1
– Discuss resident issues
– Discuss and agree further actions, priorities and next steps
The meet covered a range of issues including ASB, traffic and sense of community. A big part of the meeting was the community event on Mill Park on Friday the 21st. It was discussed about how this event could be used to engage residents about further getting involved in the community. It was decided that residents at the meeting would formulate questions they would like to ask their fellow residents at the event and there will be a post-it note exercise to answer these. This was done and there were some good responses to these questions. These included ideas for future community activities in CB1.
Another major part of the meeting was the setting of priorities for the group for the next three months. Residents at the meeting agreed that priorities should involve: working together by getting to know each other and helping to drive the community spirit.
The next meet will take place on Tuesday 6th November 2018 from 7.00pm-8.30pm (arrival for 6.30 for catching up with neighbours). Venue to be confirmed.
