Mill Park has reopened today (Monday 13th August) after the refurbishment works on the green space finished last week.
The refurbishment works that commenced earlier this year have seen the lawn area on Mill Park broken up with planters installed along with new gravel footpaths and steps to the upper terrace. The long-awaited reopening of this space will come as exciting news to stakeholders in CB1 who have seen the area fenced off for a considerable period and will want to enjoy the remainder of the summer on the green. In line with celebrating the reopening, it is planned for there to be some community activities on the green in September. This is to ensure that any initial issues with the reopening are ironed out before the community event. The planning for these events will be done by the new Community Engagement and Project Coordinator Sam Kenward in conjunction with residents. If you would like to be involved in the planning of the event, please email Sam at email@example.com.
Also important in the reopening of the park is ensuring the space is respected. This green space is an important part of the CB1 estate and partners are working together to ensure any anti-social behaviour issues are ironed out in the initial month of the opening and beyond. If you see any anti-social behaviour on the green, please report it to the CB1 Estate Warden on 07930 734836 or Hyline Security at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01223 833993.
