On Wednesday 21 February 2018, we held our first Community Meet in Crick House in Mill Park. The evening event ran from 7pm to 8.30pm all residents of the CB1 Estate were invited via our website, social media, email and via the block managers. The way that these community sessions are structured is that they are run by our independent facilitator and the residential block managers and the outcomes are then fed up to the CB1 Stakeholder group to consider and action, where appropriate. 21 people attended the meeting including a County Councillor and residents from the new Great Northern Road Residents Association,
The objectives of this residents meeting were:
- To discuss and agree how residents in CB1 want to have a voice.
- To agree how we structure ourselves and engage the wider community.
- To discuss and agree our future focus and priorities.
Guided by our facilitators, there were several conversations that were lively and passionate. Residents also gave some feedback on the website and ways this can be improved, and they made it clear that they still want to understand more about responsibilities and accountabilities of the different agencies in CB1 and how residents can influence and ensure a response to their issues and concerns. You can read a summary of the evening and what was discussed here.
The next residents meeting has been proposed for Wednesday 28th March 7pm-8.30pm. This will be confirmed on our Events page.
