The Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID), established five years ago, has been extended for a further five years and will now include Station Square and the CB1 estate.
This will bring a wealth of additions to CB1 for both locals and visitors.
The CB1 development team will work with Cambridge BID to host events and activities, making full use of the different paved and green areas on the site.BID is an initiative that supports Cambridge companies by creating opportunities for staff and business development, sharing knowledge and fostering B2B trading. Its representatives – BID Ambassadors – are seen wearing distinctive black and purple bowler hats. They offer advice on more than 1,100 local shops, bars, cafes, attractions and entertainment services, helping tourists, workers and residents make the most of their time in Cambridge. Since the BID launched in August 2013, ambassadors have assisted 63,000 people. They also report on environmental and other issues, ensuring Cambridge is the best it can be.
The BID connects Cambridge Station to the city centre, helping to support and retain new and existing businesses in Cambridge. The Grafton and Regent Street are now included in the BID area.
Throughout the year, Cambridge BID organises events such as Independents’ Week, Loving Summer, the Christmas lights in the city centre and “Big Switch On”. The CB1 development team will work with Cambridge BID to host events and activities, making full use of the different paved and green areas on the site.
